Butler PoliceTuesday — A white, Next brand mountain bike was stolen at North McKean and East Brady streets while the owner was at the Butler Public Library. The bike is valued at $100.
Butler Township Police2:13 p.m. Tuesday — Elizabeth Schwartz, 20, of Cranberry Township was seriously injured when her sport utility vehicle rolled over several times and hit a tree along Whitestown Road. Schwartz was flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Her condition was not known this morning.Monday — Police charged Elizabeth H. Arblaster, 21, of Slippery Rock with driving under the influence stemming from a traffic stop at 3:40 a.m. Aug. 4 on Duffy Road just north of Deshon Court.The results of a blood test showed Arblaster’s blood-alcohol level was 0.193 percent, more than twice the state’s 0.08 percent legal limit, according to court documents. In addition to DUI, Arblaster is charged with careless driving, disregarding traffic lanes and not wearing a seat belt.
Grove City PoliceMonday — Two buckets of scrap metal and electric wire were stolen during a theft and burglary at 241 S. Broad St. Police said the amount of damage is unknown. The burglary occurred Sunday or Monday.Friday — A pair of girls’ Ariat, brown and camouflage boots were stolen from a pavilion at the Grove City Memorial Park between 3:15 and 4:15 p.m. The boots are valued at $90.
Butler County DUI Task ForceSaturday — The Butler County DUI Task Force arrested six people for driving under the influence during a sobriety checkpoint in Cranberry Township. In all, officers stopped 363 vehicles. Along with the DUI arrests, they made one drug arrest, issued 12 traffic citations and handed out 10 warnings.
State Police, ButlerTuesday — Three guns were stolen from a home on Windhaven Lane in Worth Township. The guns include a Beretta .40-caliber pistol, a Beretta .22-caliber pistol and a Mossberg 12-gauge pump shotgun. The theft occurred between March and Tuesday.8:47 p.m. Aug. 2 — Someone in an unidentified white pickup truck threw an unknown object that hit a Slippery Rock woman’s car traveling on Route 8 at Branchton Road in Slippery Rock Township. Anyone with information is to call 724-284-8100.
State Police, MercerTuesday — Police obtained an arrest warrant for a suspected shoplifter accused of taking three pairs of Gucci frames — worth more than $1,400 — from Wigton Eye Care on Pine Grove Square Drive in Pine Township. The suspect, Durrell J. Ford, 26, of Farrell, allegedly stole the frames about 10:15 a.m. Friday.She reportedly drove away in a red Chevrolet Trailblazer.Police are seeking the public’s help in finding Ford, who is charged with retail theft. She is described as black, 5 feet 4 inches tall or 5 feet 5 inches tall with a thin build.Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call police at 724-662-6162.5:08 a.m. Sunday — Mary M. Hines, 52, of Mercer was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her vehicle got stuck in a ditch at Milburn and Old Mercer roads in Springfield Township.
