Slippery Rock Heritage Association will host the 14th annual car cruise during Slippery Rock Heritage Days. The cruise will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Main Street will be closed to through traffic. Car registration is $5. Activities will include live music, prizes, trophies, a bake sale, and a Heritage memorabilia display. Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528, Brady Township, will be the site of Woodland Treasure Hunt: Orienteering 101 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Individuals willing to spend a fall day pitching in at the park are needed to celebrate the 20th annual National Public Lands Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 28. A dark sky star party is set for 7:20 p.m. Sept. 21 before the moon rises.McConnells Mill State Park in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, hosts A Taste of History: Dutch Oven Cooking from noon to 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the gristmill courtyard. The 21st annual McConnells Mill Heritage Festival will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 28 and 29. The mill is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through October.
