The three Butler County artists who will be competing in ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, Mich., starting Wednesday will have their work available for viewing for area residents before they depart Butler for the show. The three pieces — “In My Soul” by Bill Secunda, “Sacrifice” by Tom Panei and “OMG” by Dennis Keyes — will be exhibited from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Panei's studio at 103 Hicks Road, Renfrew. Transit Fine Art Gallery, 206 Seneca St., Oil City, is hosting an exhibit of watercolor paintings by Kathryn Galey of Sarver during September. Carnegie Museum of Art, 4400 Forbes Ave., hosts The Playground Project featuring playgrounds from around the world. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, with additional hours until 8 p.m. Thursdays, and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $17.95 for adults, $14.95 for senior citizens, $11.95 for students and children ages 3 to 18, and free for children younger than 3. Admission after 4 p.m. on Thursdays is discounted.
