\5:11 a.m. Saturday — A car and tractor-trailer collided at North Main and West Penn streets. The crash happened when Robert K. Stalker, 46, of Connoquenessing Township apparently ran a flashing red light and collided with the tractor-trailer driven by Christopher E. Holland, 31, of New Kensington, Westmoreland County. According to a police report, Stalker had been drinking and was taken for a blood-alcohol test.3:59 a.m. Saturday — An apparently inebriated intruder was arrested after she walked into a house in the 100 block of Mercer Road and startled the occupants. Alverda D. Pavasco, 26, of Butler is charged with trespass and public drunkenness. The occupants told police they were sleeping when they heard their dog barking. When they awoke they found Pavasco in their house. The couple said they had never seen her before. Officers believe Pavasco, who was “highly intoxicated,” got into the house through an unlocked door.3:19 a.m. Saturday — Brian J. Campbell Jr., 23, of Butler lost control of his car when the power steering failed and crashed into a utility pole on North Main Street.10:12 p.m. Tuesday — Howard E. Bauer, 49, of Summit Township lost control of his pickup on Cupps Street, traveled into a yard at the rear of a home in the 200 block of Hickory Street and hit a stone retaining wall in back of a house in the 300 block of Zeigler Avenue. The pickup ended on its driver's side.7:13 p.m. Aug. 29 — An unidentified vehicle struck the rear passenger side door of a car in the Monarch Place parking lot on Brugh Avenue and did not stop after the crash. The car sustained an estimated $1,500 in damage.Tuesday — Nothing was missing after a break-in at a downtown store.The unknown burglar overnight broke the lock and handle to a rear steel door at The Store on South Main Street and got inside the business.The suspect apparently turned the lights on, but did not take anything.Owner William Douthett III discovered the burglary shortly before 1 p.m. when he arrived to open his store, which sustained an estimated $550 in damage.

3:07 p.m. Wednesday — A pickup trick driven by John Dickson, 68, and a car driven by Kristy Gildersleeve, 25, both of Grove City, collided at East Pine Street and Madison Avenue.

Friday — A battery was stolen from a vehicle in the Skander Tire parking lot on Route 68 in Forward Township. The unknown thief popped the hood, got into the engine compartment and cut the battery terminal wires. The theft happened between 6 a.m. Thursday and 5 a.m. Friday.Tuesday — Several guns were stolen from a house on Pinewood Lane in Center Township. The theft happened between 11 a.m. Sept. 1 and 2 a.m. Tuesday.

2:27 a.m. Sunday — Samantha R. Pepple, 21, of Kittanning was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 85 at the Route 422 exit in Manor Township.8:08 p.m. Saturday — Ethan L. Stark, 24, of Pittsburgh was arrested for suspicion of DUI after he was caught going more than 100 mph on Route 28 in South Buffalo Township. Police said they suspect Stark was impaired by alcohol and drugs.6:57 p.m. Friday — Melody Booker, 39, of Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, was arrested after an altercation with 66-year-old Mary Pleva at Pleva's home on Horseshoe Drive in South Buffalo Township. Booker was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment and placed in the Armstrong County Jail.Tuesday — Several unspecified items were taken from a home on Pine Lane in West Franklin Township. The theft occurred between June 24 and Tuesday.

Today — Police reported they have a suspect in connection with a high-speed chase last month through at least two municipalities in eastern Mercer County.The chase started shortly after midnight Aug. 17 when the suspect, who police did not identify, drove away after a traffic stop in Springfield Township. The pursuit continued east on Route 208, south on Route 258 and south on Jervis Road into Liberty Township.The suspect eventually drove off Miller Road and shut off the lights to his vehicle in making his getaway through several crops field and a cow pasture, causing “extensive damage” to the fields, according to a police report. The suspect faces charges of fleeing or attempting to elude police, agricultural vandalism and criminal mischief.Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police at 724-662-6162.
