Overtime winner

Freshman Noah Pollock scored the game-winning goal with 45 seconds remaining in overtime to lift the Karns City boys soccer team to a 4-3 win over DuBois Central Catholic Saturday.

It was Pollock's second goal of the game.

Spencer Myers also scored a pair of goals for the Gremlins.

Knoch 2, Hopewell 0 — Davis Miller and Brandon Vargo each scored goals for the Knights.

Knoch (3-0-2) has recorded three straight shutouts.

Butler 5, Brashear 0 — The Golden Tornado got its fourth shutout in as many games this season by handling Brashear.

The Knoch boys cross country team won the 7-team West Middlesex Big Red Invitational Saturday.Preston Carlsson placed fourth overall with a time of 17 minutes, 24 seconds. Brandon Grumski was right behind him with a seventh-place finish and a time of 17:43.Mandi Moxie finished in 11th place for the Knoch girls team, which placed fifth in the event.Adian Neigh and Elizabeth Butler both finished first for Knoch in the boys and girls junior varsity races. Elijah Hardy scored on a 34-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to give Summit Academy a 7-0 lead, but Waynesburg rallied for a 14-7 win over the Knights Saturday afternoon.Hunter Cenname tied the score with a 38-yard run later in the second quarter and Waynesburg got the winning touchdown in the fourth quarter on a 38-yard scamper by Bo Hampson, who finished with 108 yards on 11 carries.Waynesburg rushed for 249 yards in the win.Summit Academy (1-1) managed just five first downs in the game.
