SV golfers top Butler

SV Ross Bondo tees off on #1 as his team and the Butler player watch in their mens golf match at Cranberrry Highlands.

Evan Hangliter and Ross Bondo both fired a 37 as the Seneca Valley boys golf team downed Butler 192-202 Wednesday at Cranberry Highlands Golf Course.

Nic Leone shot a 38 for Butler (4-4, 2-4).

Volleyball

Katie Bozzo had eight kills and 17 assists as Knoch swept Ford City 28-26, 25-14, 25-18.

Celina Sanks added nine kills and eight blocks and Shaely Renfrew six kills for the Knights (2-0, 1-0).

Grove City 3, A-C Valley 1 — The Falcons forced a fourth set, but the Eagles closed out a 25-14, 25-13, 22-25, 25-18 victory.

Jessica Calendar paced the Falcons (0-1) with 11 service points, four kills and eight digs. Sadie Longo added five service points and four kills.

Cross Country

Frankie Petrini placed fourth overall with a time of 18 minutes and five seconds in the Mars boys' 25-30 loss to North Hills.

In the girls' meet, the Planets were led by Shannon McChesney's sixth-place time of 22:23 in a 20-38 loss.
