Butler Police11:42 p.m. Monday — A foggy windshield was blamed for a wreck that happened when Cheryl A. Johnston, 20, of Butler drove into three parked cars on Mercer Street.Johnston hit the first car before swerving and striking a car right in front of it. The impact with the second car caused it to roll forward and hit a third vehicle.Police cited Johnston for driving with a windshield obstruction.12:31 p.m. Saturday — A teenage girl was hurt in a head-on collision on Belmont Road.Police said Charles Blatt, 56, of Fenelton crossed into the left lane to legally pass a parked van. Blatt’s car was still in the middle of the road going around a bend when he struck a car driven by Jessica Otto, 18, of Harrisville.Otto’s car was also in the middle of the road at the time of the accident. She suffered minor injuries to her knees.

Butler Twp Police8:07 p.m. Sunday — A vehicle driven by Lyndsay Burneisen, 22, of Oil City, Venango County, rear-ended another vehicle on Armco Drive at the Picklegate Crossing. Police said Burneisen was cited for careless driving. Nanette Heath, 61, of Butler was the other driver.5:06 p.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Joshua Glenn, 22, of Chicora sideswiped one vehicle and struck the back of another one in the Target store parking lot at Butler Commons. The accident happened when Glenn fell asleep at the wheel. Police said they cited him for careless driving.11:20 p.m. Saturday — Vehicles driven by Tyler Gladd, 18, of Prospect and Brittany Freehling, 22, of Butler collided at Meridian and Evans City roads. Police said Gladd was cited for making an improper left turn.4:56 p.m. Saturday — David Ratz, 60, of Renfrew was hurt when a vehicle struck the vehicle he was driving on Whitestown Road at Meridian Road. Ratz was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unspecified injuries. Police said the other driver, Wallace McMarlin, 64, of Saxonburg, was cited for running a red light.10:52 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Irene Sams, 87, of Sebring, Ohio, rear-ended another car on the Route 422 exit ramp at New Castle Road. Police cited the other driver, Robin Stumpf, 26, of Butler, with careless driving.10:10 p.m. Friday — Valerie Muenz, 25, of Pittsburgh was hurt when a vehicle she was driving collided with another vehicle on Route 8 south at the Greater Butler Mart. Police said Muenz, who was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuries, was cited for making an improper left turn. Macie Hucker-Kobulnicky, 22, of Valencia was the other driver.2:38 a.m. Aug. 20 — Dorothy G. Lazarotti, 26, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after police stopped her car going the wrong way on Route 8 south near Bredinville.Grove City Police12:51 a.m. Monday — Sean Miller, 20, of Grove City was picked up on an arrest warrant obtained by state police last week in connection with a criminal case. Miller was arraigned on charges of receiving stolen property and conspiracy, and placed in the Mercer County Jail on $25,000 bail.Monday — A pack of cigarettes and a small amount of change were stolen from a vehicle on Superior Street. The unknown thief used a cement block to smash a window and get into the car between 11 p.m. Sunday and 8:30 a.m. Monday.

State Police, Butler11:13 p.m. Tuesday — Ericka R. Chiocchio, 26, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her sport utility vehicle struck a street sign and trash can at Mercer and North Duffy roads in Center Township.Tuesday — A burglar made off with $4,500 that was in a safe at a home on Chelden Lane in Concord Township. The break-in happened between 8:30 a.m. Friday and 8 p.m. Tuesday.Tuesday — Police reported they are investigating a rash of criminal mischief incidents at Saxony Estates in Jefferson Township. The latest incident occurred early Saturday morning when someone placed screws behind the tires of a vehicle causing them to puncture. Anyone with information on any incident at Saxony Estates is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.1:51 p.m. Monday — Three people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash in Slippery Rock Township. The wreck happened when a car driven by John B. Speer, 79, and a pickup truck driven by Robert G. Brewer, 56, both of Slippery Rock collided at Branchton and Harmony roads.Speer, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with moderate injuries. Garnet P. Speer, 78, of Slippery Rock, a passenger in the car, and Laurie B. Brewer, 42, of Slippery Rock, a passenger in the pickup, suffered minor injuries. Both passengers were wearing seat belts.Police said Speer was cited for a stop sign violation.Friday — Three cameras worth $1,500 were taken from a home in the 400 block of Harmony Road in Connoquenessing Township. The theft happened between Aug. 13 and 30.
