Ko, 16, wins LPGA event
EDMONTON, Alberta — Lydia Ko breezed through another perfect Sunday in the Canadian Women’s Open — until a reporter pressed the amateur about missing out on another $300,000 payday.
“I don’t care! I don’t care!” Ko said. “I can say that a couple times more, if you want.”
The 16-year-old New Zealander successfully defend her title, closing with a 6-under 64 at Royal Mayfair for a five-stroke win.
