Emlenton man dies in factory accident
PAINT TWP, Clarion Co. — An Emlenton man died Friday morning while working at a fiber boards plant.
Kenneth Nichols, 56, was pronounced dead at the Clarion Boards plant in Shippenville by county coroner Terry Shaffer at 11:25 a.m.
The accident happened when Nichols was crushed between a conveyor belt roller and frame while repairing an hydraulic leak on the machinery, Shaffer said.
“It was an unfortunate accident,” Shaffer said.
Coworkers at the plant tried to help Nichols, but were unable to due to the size of equipment.
Clarion Hospital EMS responded to the accident.
State police in Clarion are handling the investigation.
