Betty M. Lias
Betty M. Lias, 90, of Bradys Bend Township, Armstrong County, Kittanning Hollow, died Sunday at ACMH Hospital, Kittanning.
Born on March 6, 1923, in Shippenville, Pa., she was the daughter of Lawrence F. and Mable H. (Lowers) Shepard.
Betty attended Karns City High School and on Aug. 4, 1941, she married Thomas D. “Shorty” Lias in Wellsburg, W.Va.
Betty loved yard sales, taking care of animals, fishing and watching sports on television with her family. She also sold Avon in the East Brady area for many years. “Aunt Betts” will always be remembered for making her nieces, nephews and family feel special and so loved.
She is survived by one grandson, Thomas Robinson of Kittanning Hollow and a brother, Robert Shepard of Stoneboro, Pa. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; one daughter, Betty E. Robinson; one son-in-law, Wilson L. Robinson; one granddaughter, Amy Robinson and two brothers and three sisters.
LIAS — Friends of Betty M. Lias, who died Sunday July 14, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Charles B. Buechele Funeral Home, 105 4th St. East Brady.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev.
