K. Dale Lewis

K. Dale Lewis, formerly of Worthington, died on Sunday in Irving, N.Y.

He was born to Warren and Leone (Bush) Lewis in Craigsville, Pa., on May 19, 1925.

He attended Worthington schools. He married Alma Grace Gaiser Lewis on March 14, 1947, and she died on March 22, 2009.

Dale was a lifelong member of the Worthington Presbyterian Church, serving several terms as an elder, and taught Sunday school with his wife. He was a former member of the Worthington Lions Club and served on the board of the Worthington Civic Center. He enjoyed bowling and playing golf.

He was a retiree of the West Penn Power Co.

He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Solomon Islands during World War II.

He is survived by two daughters, Donna Kay Lewis of Gowanda, N.Y., and Beverly Kennedy of Harrisville; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents; his sister, Mabel Lewis McGinty; and his brother, William Byron “Barney” Lewis, predeceased him.

LEWIS — Calling hours for K. Dale Lewis, who died Sunday, July 7, 2013, will be at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 424 Bear St., Worthington from 1 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at the Worthington Presbyterian Church with viewing one hour before the service.Donations may be made in Dale's memory to the church or to the charity of one's choice.
