CRANBERRY TWP — Union workers at Cleveland Brothers Equipment at its Route 19 facility and across the region are back to work after a new contract was reached Friday night with the company.

The agreement ends a two-week long picket of about 270 workers at the heavy equipment sales, parts and service business by the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66.

“On Aug. 1 and 2, 2013, the I.U.O.E. Local 66 bargaining unit members at Cleveland Brothers Equipment Company’s Murrysville, Cranberry, Blawnox, New Stanton, Erie, Lantz Corners, Clearfield and Somerset locations ratified a new three-year agreement ending their two week strike,” according to a statement released by the union.

The contract includes an increase in pensions and wages.

The previous three-year deal expired June 30. Workers were back on the job Monday.

An unfair labor practice complaint filed with the National Labor Relations Board was dropped as part of the contract agreement. The union had claimed the company engaged in unfair labor practices by attempting to bargain directly with employees rather than going through union representatives.
