Mick Fennell tossed a complete game, allowing two runs on six hits as Saxonburg defeated Mars II 9-2 in the second game of a best-of-5 Eagle County League semifinal series Saturday afternoon at Callery Field.

The win gives Saxonburg a commanding two-games-to-none lead.

Ryan Fennell led the offensive effort with a pair of base hits and three RBI while Alex Ziegler contributed three singles and one run batted in.

For Mars II, both Ryan O’Conner and Tom Wigton had a single and RBI.

Pitching was also dominant in Mars’ 7-0 victory over Cranberry Township at North Boundary Park.

Jimmy Devine held Cranberry to just two hits while striking out nine and allowing just one walk in a complete game.

Dan Berty singled twice and scored twice for Mars, which now holds a 2-0 lead in the series.
