Michael J. Anderson
Michael J. Anderson, 59, of Chicora died Friday afternoon at his home surrounded by his loving family, following a short illness.
He was born of Dec. 19, 1953, in Butler to Clarence “Butch” Anderson and Shirley Fry Anderson of Karns City.
He worked at Spang and Co. in Butler until the plant closed and then he worked as a self-employed contractor. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and playing with his grandchildren.
Michael is a member of Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Darcy Wesoloski Anderson, who he married Aug. 26, 1978; a son, Justin Michael Anderson of Chicora; daughters, Heather and Matthew Kostecky of Butler and Whitney Anderson of Chicora; grandchildren, Cade Kostecky, Lilli Anderson and Melodee Anderson; brothers, Paul and Diane Anderson of Karns City, Ronald and Cheryl Anderson of Petrolia and James and Sherry Anderson of Chicora; and sisters, Barbara and Dennis Michael of Bruin, Brenda and James Schrecengost of Chicora and Sharon Anderson of Chicora.
His father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis and Jean Wesoloski of Chicora; sisters-in-law, Wendy Olsen of Butler, Tracy and John Kulak of Cranberry Township, Laurie and Donald Babcock of Albuquerque, N.M., and Tara and Christopher Bruecken of Pittsburgh; and brother-in-law, Mark and Pamela Wesoloski of North Carolina, also survive.
ANDERSON — Visitation for Michael J. Anderson, who died Friday, June 28, 2013, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock and Main St., Chicora.A celebration of life Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Mater Dolorosa Church, 409 Main St., Chicora, with the Rev. Joseph Pudichery, officiating.
