Eagle County playoffs arrive

The Eagle County baseball playoffs begin today with first-round best-of-three matchups.

No. 3 Mars II (20-10-1) hosts No. 6 Freeport (11-16-4). No. 4 Cranberry (14-15-1) welcomes No. 5 Wexford (14-17-1). Games are slated for 6 p.m.

Three-time defending champion Mars I (27-4) and Saxonburg (26-6) earned a first-round bye. The second round will be a best-of-five series.
