These items have been collected from various police departments.

Wednesday — An apparent scrap metal thief stole several items from the back yard of a home in the 200 block of East Penn Street. The items included a hot water heater, vehicle alternators and a metal pole. Owner Alfred Sutton estimated the stolen property weighed between 1,100 and 1,200 pounds in scrap metal.Wednesday — A tan and brown Coach purse was stolen from a car parked on Mercer Street. The purse contained an Apple iPod Touch, cell phone charger and other personal items. The stolen property is valued at $220.Wednesday — An unknown thief overnight made off with 18 ornamental lights from the yard of a home in the 100 block of East Muntz Avenue. The lights are worth a combined $54.

7:20 p.m. Monday — Heather Thornton, 24, of Butler allegedly cashed a forged and stolen check at the Friedman's supermarket in the Greater Butler Mart. The check was one of several stolen from a home on Route 68 in the township.Thornton is charged with forgery, access device fraud, theft and receiving stolen property.6:30 p.m. Sunday — Jeremy Lee Jones, 24, of Butler is accused of breaking into a house on Penn Avenue in Lyndora and stealing several items. Jones is charged with burglary, trespass, theft and receiving stolen property.

Monday — A black Honda bicycle was stolen from a garage at a home in the 200 block of East Pine Street. The bike was taken between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Anyone with any information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.4:12 p.m. Sunday — Marsha Howard, 65, of Grove City was hurt when her car collided with another vehicle in the 500 block of North Broad Street. Howard was taken to Grove City Medical Center with unspecified injuries.Police said Howard caused the accident when she turned to enter a home's driveway and crossed into the path of the other vehicle driven by Joylene Holtman, 55, of Grove City.Holtman suffered minor injuries but did not need medical treatment.Police cited Howard for making an improper left turn.

3:42 p.m. Monday — Julie A. Purvis Maze, 32, of Evans City lost control of her car and struck a tree along Route 528 just east of Earls Lane Extension in Forward Township. Police said Purvis Maze was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

1:42 p.m. Tuesday — Josh Freyermuth, 25, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 28 in Harmar Township, Allegheny County. Police said Freyermuth's passengers, Richard Coward, 41, of Valencia and Michael Kostick, 35, of Creighton, Allegheny County, were found with suspected heroin and face pending drug charges.
