Corrine Janet Gamble
Corrine Janet Gamble, 86, of Butler passed away at 3:17 a.m. Sunday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.
Corrine was born May 10, 1927, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Earl D. Webb and the late Laura S. Thompson Webb.
She was a member of the Muddycreek United Presbyterian Church.
She was a telephone operator at Butler Memorial Hospital for over 30 years.
Corrine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt who loved to garden, cook and who made holidays and family celebrations special. She was the anchor of our family.
Corrine is survived by three daughters, Darcee M. Gamble of Baden, Pa., Mrs. Dane (Marcie E.) Wigand, and their children, Dane C., Danielle, and Jonathan, of Dallas Texas, and Mrs. Fred (Karen S.) Sheakley, and their daughters, Jennifer and Jacqueline of Butler; two sons, Darrell V. Gamble and Shawn P. Gamble and his daughter, Nichole J., both of Butler; and soon to be seven great-grandchildren. Her sister, Mrs. Gerald “Joe” (Annabelle) Soose of Butler, and her brother, Earl “Bud” (Jean) Webb of Butler, and several nieces and nephews survive. Also surviving is her ex-husband and companion, Edward L. Brown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry M. Gamble, who died on May 29, 1973.
GAMBLE — Friends of Corrine Janet Gamble, who passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013, will be received at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. The family also will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Muddycreek United Presbyterian Church where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Matt Kail, her minister, officiating. Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W., Suite 800, Washington, D.C. 20004.
