Eleanor E. Gerner, 87, of Sarver passed away Thursday at Allegheny Valley Hospital.

Born June 1, 1925, in Bradys Bend, she was the daughter of Earl and Anne Wyant Shultz.

A homemaker, she was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, where she served with the Christian Mothers.

Surviving are her husband, Walter L. Gerner, who she married Jan. 31, 1945; two daughters, Rebecca (Wesley) Simmers of Cabot and Carol (Dave) Campbell of Cabot; three sisters, Helen (Clifford) Whittmer of Emlenton, Judy (Raymond) Crawford of East Brady and Marilyn (James) Rankin of Rimersburg; two brothers, Joseph (Esther) Shultz of Fenelton and Daniel Shultz of East Brady; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Dennis Gerner; four brothers; and five sisters.

GERNER — Friends of Eleanor E. Gerner, who passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at theFox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cabot with the Rev. Mark Carter officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Herman.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
