U.S. Marine Cody Kaiser recently completed U.S. Marine Corps boot camp, Parris Island, S.C.

Kaiser is the son of Mindy Peterman of Valencia and Craig Kaiser of Allison Park. He graduated from Mars High School in 2011. He is attending Marine Corps School of Infantry in North Carolina.

U.S. Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Matthew Dick, son of Evelyn and Robin Dick of Mars, participated in an amphibious assault exercise when Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard the dock landing ship USS Tortuga conducted a raid with Malaysian Army paratroopers.

Dick is a 2000 graduate of Mars High School and joined the Navy in September 2003.
