Wednesday — Two Butler teenagers are accused of breaking into a downtown motorcycle shop earlier this week and making off with a dirt bike.Officers responded to the Cycle Warehouse on South Main Street to find the glass door on the Cunningham Street side of the business broken. Stolen was a Suzuki RM250.That dirt bike later was found at a property in Center Township. The investigation also turned up another motorcycle stolen the previous week from a storage garage in the city's Island neighborhood. That cycle was found at a South Side home.The suspects, ages 16 and 17, are charged with burglary, conspiracy and theft. The younger boy also is charged with receiving stolen property, in connection with the motorcycle recovered in the city.3:23 p.m. Sunday — Michael Paul Jason Chute, 34, of Butler was arrested on a bench warrant after police spotted him standing next to a vehicle in the 300 block of West New Castle Street.Police also charged Chute with false identification to law enforcement authorities after he initially gave officers a bogus name. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrant.
6:12 a.m. Wednesday — Rosanne Crider, 50, and Patrick R. Kerr, 21, both of Butler, were hurt when vehicles they were driving collided in Summit Township. After the crash at Routes 68 and 38, Crider's minivan was pushed into a another van driven by David C. Rumbaugh, 56, of Hilliards.Crider and Kerr, who were both wearing seat belts, suffered minor injuries. Police said Kerr was cited for a traffic control signal violation.
Tuesday — An Emlenton area bar was burglarized and about $700 stolen.But this was no smash-and-grab break-in. Instead, police said, the burglar removed the hinge pins to a door to get inside Mike's Bar on Route 38 sometime Monday or Tuesday. Police did not say if they have any suspects.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 814-226-1710.11:13 a.m. Friday — A Rimersburg youth was seriously injured after losing control of an all-terrain vehicle and crashing into a guardrail on Canoe Rippe Road in Licking Township. The youth, who police did not identify, was thrown off the ATV. The youth was wearing a helmet and was taken to an undisclosed hospital.
