Cranberry Community Days slated
CRANBERRY TWP — An array of events are planned for this year’s Cranberry Township Community Days, July 11 to 13, with some old favorites and some exciting new events, culminating with a fireworks display.
Community Days, now in its 37th year, is the largest community event of the year in Cranberry.
It opens with several pre-events on July 10, including an invitational luncheon at Cranberry Highlands honoring the Four Pillars of community: its business, religious, government and nonprofit organizations.
The volunteer fire company will host a golf outing for the second year. Proceeds will benefit the fire company and the Cranberry Township Community Chest (CTCC) Project of the Year, the Kids Palace.
In the evening, Martinis with Monet will be at the Cranberry Public Library. Tickets are available through the CTCC website.
Carnival rides, booths, and games open on July 11 in the Community Park off Route 19 and continue through July 13. Activities, contests, entertainment and special events are scheduled each day.
New this year are more booths, 10 yarn-covered trees, several art events, a movie in the park, a free kids area, and trophies for the car/motorcycle cruise.
On July 11, the celebration kicks into gear with the Cruisin’ Cranberry car/motorcycle cruise, Art in the Park, carnival booths, Broadway in the Park featuring a musical show, and a movie that will be determined later.
July 12 continues the carnival, Art in the Park, the annual Bean Bag Toss Tournament, vendor booths and concerts.
Rounding out Community Days are the annual Lions Club Pancake Breakfast, Run for the Library/Charity 5K, carnival, inflatables for the kids, concerts and fireworks.
In addition, in activity leading up to Community Days, there will be a treasure hunt and scavenger hunt, with clues available in the Cranberry Eagle newspaper.
