United Way: Creating Opportunites and Inspiring Hope For a Better Tomorrow
On behalf of the board of directors of United Way of Butler County and Leadership Butler County, we are pleased to present this awards publication celebrating those who Give, Lead, and Educate. We thank the Butler Eagle for its support of this effort in recognizing the companies and individuals who stand out as leaders.
It is exciting to be able to put the spotlight on those organizations which conduct United Way employee campaigns in their workplace and achieve excellence in giving and volunteering. The community is ever grateful to these organizations that lend their support year after year and rise to the top in their sectors.
Through their efforts, United Way of Butler County raised $1.45 million in its 2012 Campaign, allowing us to continue our impact work around Education, Financial Stability and Connecting People in Butler County.
Later in the summer as we prepare to kick-off our 2013 fundraising efforts, we will present our Community Impact Report, summarizing the outcomes and results of our community investments. This report will take a closer look at our efforts to prepare our youth for the jobs awaiting them in this region and to lead this county toward a vibrant future; at efforts to help families maintain and achieve greater levels of financial security and standards of living; and to help our community connect through PA 2-1-1 Southwest.
It is our pleasure to highlight the 2013 graduates of the Leadership Butler County program. Good governance and board leadership are essential to the success of our nonprofit organizations in the community, and Leadership Butler County prepares individuals to assume these roles. We encourage these graduates to assume these positions and our partners are encouraged to seek them out.
Also for the 10th year, we present the Red Apple Awards to educators from all seven county school districts along with our vo-tech, higher education, and pre-kindergarten. This partnership with educators is critical to the future of the community, and we call on you today to support our schools, including teachers, administrators and school boards. They are the window to our future.
We thank all those who continue to contribute to our campaign along with the businesses and organizations who provide sponsorships for our Red Apple Award Winners and support for the Leadership Butler County program. Please join us in supporting and patronizing these organizations.
