Richmond downs Slippery Rock

A six-run second inning by Richmond (Ind.) was too much for Slippery Rock to overcome as the Sliders dropped an 8-4 Prospect League decision on the road Thursday night.

Spencer Applebach was tagged for five earned runs on five hits and was pulled from the game without recording an out in the second inning.

The Sliders, who led 3-0 entering the bottom of the second inning, were forced to use three relievers over the final seven innings. The last of those, Travis Clark, pitched four scoreless frames.

Richmond’s Jacob Bosiokovic was a thorn in Slippery Rock’s side, going 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI.

Aaron Lindgren, Storm Wilson and Connor McCallum each had two hits for Slippery Rock (6-9).
