Bonnie Jean Gardner, 86, of Hilliards died at 1:25 a.m. Friday at the Grove City Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 19, 1926, in Boyers, and was the daughter of the late Robert and Althea (Kohlmeyer) Smith.

Bonnie Jean was a member of the Ridgeville United Methodist Church. She retired from the Moniteau School District where she had been a secretary and attendance clerk.

Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Lawrence John Gardner of Hilliards; her son, David L. Gardner of Hilliards; her granddaughter, Erin A. Gardner of Etna; and her brother, Joseph Cavier Smith of Harrisville.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Marvin Smith.

GARDNER — Services and burial for Bonnie Jean Gardner, who died Friday, May 10, 2013, are private. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, Butler.
