ZELIENOPLE ON TAP & UNPLUGGED

Music and beer fest will help dedicate new amphitheater

ZELIENOPLE — The Community Park Association and Friends of the Park will welcome summer as it hosts Zelienople On Tap & Unplugged, a beer and music festival, on June 1.

The event also is the dedication ceremony for the borough park’s new amphitheater.

On Tap & Unplugged will be at the top of the hill in the park off East Beaver Street near the Connoquenessing Valley School.

It will begin with music at 3 p.m. June 1 and continue until 9 p.m. Performances will feature the Infamous Dicks, the acoustic version of the popular band The Clarks. The concert is free.

Restaurants will serve food; soft drinks will be available during the musical performances and to those attending the beer festival.

The craft beer festival will run from 4 to 7 p.m. Pre-event tickets are $40 per person. Event day tickets are $45.

The ticket includes an event T-shirt, a tasting glass, unlimited beer tastings, and free admission to the concert. Food will be available to buy.

The event will include a dedication ceremony for the James A. Ayers Sr. Amphitheatre that was recently completed and named for a former borough businessman who dedicated his time and service to the community.

“This event has been an idea for quite a while, but when the Ayers Family helped us build the James A. Ayers Sr. Amphitheatre, it was time to take it and run with it,” said Mary Hess, who is organizing the event.

Ayers was a resident of Harmony and a public accountant who practiced in Zelienople.

Organizers are limiting the number of tickets to the Beer Fest to 1,500.

Tickets to the beer event are on the Friends of the Park website at www.myzeliepark.org and are available by mail at: Zelienople On Tap & Unplugged, P.O. Box 402, Zelienople, PA 16063.
