PYROTECHINICS CONVENTION
MUDDY CREEK TWP — An event deemed the “olympics of fireworks” coming in August will treat Butler County residents to one of the biggest and best displays in the country.
The Pyrotechnics Guild International Convention is coming to Cooper's Lake, and public fireworks displays will take place on Aug. 11, 13, 14 and 16.
The convention is staged in a different community every year.
Thousands of tourists are expected to flock to the area for the explosive show. People also can take part in seminars, workshops and safety training and visit vendors.
Only current Pyrotechnics Guild International members may attend convention activities, but the public is invited to the four public display nights.
The event will be held weather permitting.
Presale tickets are $35 for a carload of people, up to six people per car. Prices will be $40 per carload at the gate, while extra fees will apply for busloads, vans and people over the six person per car limit.
Anyone interested in buying tickets can visit the Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau's website, www.VisitButlerCounty.com.
