Anthony Baron

Anthony F. Baron, 93, of Butler died Saturday afternoon at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born Dec. 10, 1919, in Russellton, Pa., and was a son of the late Stanley and Balbina Baron.

He worked as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator for Republic Steel in Russellton, retiring in 1978. He and his wife owned and operated their own farm, and he was a heavy equipment operator for Bachman Contracting in Natrona Heights.

Anthony was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, the Polish National Alliance, was a handyman, and had enjoyed polka music and polka dancing. When he was young, he delivered fruits and vegetables from his mother's garden.

Surviving are his wife, Helen C. (Danik) Baron, who he married June 21, 1947; five children, Teresa (Robert) Docherty of Pittsburgh, Anthony David (Theresa) Baron of Butler, Cecelia (Stanley) Dodds of Butler, Charles Baron of Cypress, Texas, and Thomas (Cindy) Baron of Sarver; six grandchildren, Angela, Kathleen, Allison, Grant, Caitlin and Corey; three great-grandchildren: Mackenna, Anya and Aiden; and one sister, Rose Grzybek of Butler.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

BARON — Friends of Anthony F. Baron, who died Saturday, April 13, 2013, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Calvary Cemetery, Butler.St. Paul's Catholic Women and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday at the church to recite the Rosary.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
