Karns City's baseball team overcame an early 5-0 deficit to defeat Clarion-Limestone 14-5 Thursday afternoon at Fairview Park.

Mike Riley, Wyatt Everetts and Holden Martin each drove in three runs for the Gremlins (16-1).

Several Butler County area track and field athletes broke school records at the Redbank Valley Invitational Thursday afternoon.The Karns City girls 400-meter relay team of Brittany Coyle, Taylor Brown, Annie Hegedus and Breann Wood ran a time of 50.5 seconds, breaking the Gremlins' school record by a second.Moniteau senior Ashley Brehm broke her own school record in the javelin with a throw of 115 feet, 1 inch.A-C Valley senior Meredith Snyder also broke her own school record in the high jump, clearing 5 feet, 3 inches.

Mars lost to Sewickley Academy 4-1 in the WPIAL Class AA team finals. No other details were available.

Kaitlyn Crimbchin tallied two goals and two assists and Mandi Boldy three scores, but Knoch dropped an 11-10 decision to Moon.Also scoring for the Knights was Holly Bachman, Kelsey Kloes, Kelsie Petit, Emily Zilka and Kayla Smith.

Quaker Valley 15, Mars 9 — Will King scored four goals and added three assists for the Planets (7-6, 4-1) in this Wednesday game. Hunter Mincer and Jake Porter added two goals each, Blake Thompson one.
