Agnes Gertrude (Raymond) Rauschenberger
Agnes Gertrude (Raymond) Rauschenberger, 82, of Butler passed away at 10:59 p.m. Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 10, 1930, in Henryville, Ind., to the late Curtis Raymond and Mary Elizabeth (Bolly) Raymond.
Mrs. Rauschenberger was a 1948 graduate of Romeo High School in Romeo, Mich. She came to Butler on April 1, 1952, and worked as the assistant chief operator for Bell Telephone, retiring as chief operator when Bell Telephone closed its Butler office in 1983. She was a member of North Street Christian Church, where she taught Sunday school, was a deaconess and a department chairperson. She worked on the mission committee and many other church committees. Mrs. Rauschenberger was a member of the Butler Chapter 45 Order of Eastern Star, the Good Samaritan Shrine-White Shrine of Jerusalem 32 and the Order of the Amaranth 145. She served on the advisory board for the International Order of Rainbow for Girls Butler Assembly 25 and was a member of the Acacia Club. Mrs. Rauschenberger was a past president of the Senior Women’s Club and the Kiwanis. She was a member of the American Legion 117 Ladies Auxiliary and the Telephone Pioneers of America. Mrs. Rauschenberger served as past president of the Mother’s Club of Lorraine Chapter DeMolay. She received the DeMolay medal of appreciation. She was a member of the Women’s Golf Association and the Women’s Bowling Association at Butler County Club. Mrs. Rauschenberger drove for Meals on Wheels for many years, she enjoyed lunches with the Bell Telephone Retired Operators and was a frequent walker at the mall. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Rauschenberger is survived by two sons, Floyd Arthur Rauschenberger III of Butler and Curtis Raymond Rauschenberger and his wife, Joyce, of Butler; three grandchildren, Alexander Curtis Rauschenberger and his girlfriend, Kaitlin Nemec, Rebecca Kayleigh Rauschenberger and Rachel Nichol Rauschenberger; one sister, Mary Margaret Poole of Bryan, Texas; and a number of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Floyd A. Rauschenberger Jr., who she married Sept. 21, 1951, and who passed away July 20, 1999; seven brothers and sisters; and four infant granddaughters.
RAUSCHENBERGER — Friends of Agnes Gertrude (Raymond) Rauschenberger, who passed away Monday, April 1, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, PA 16001.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the North Street Christian Church, 220 W. North St., Butler, PA 16001, with Pastor Robert C. Huber officiating.
Members of the Butler Chapter 45 Order of Eastern Star will hold a service at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Members of the American Legion 117 Ladies Auxiliary will hold a service at 6:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will take place in North Side Cemetery.
