Sharon Taylor

Sharon F. Taylor, 63, of Gerwick Road, Emlenton, went to be with the Lord at 10:11 p.m. Saturday at the Sharon Regional Medical Center Hospice following a courageous battle with a lengthy illness.

Sharon was born in Cowansville, Pa., on Feb. 5, 1950. She was the daughter of Evelyn S. Snyder Fye of Mercer and the late Charles J. Fye.

She was a 1968 graduate of Grove City High School. She was an active member of the Park Hill First Church of God in West Freedom. She also attended the Whitehall Church of God Campground in Emlenton, where she enjoyed crafting and working with the children. She was a homemaker and a member of the Red Hat Society. Sharon cherished the time she spent with her granddaughter, Trinity.

She was married in Grove City on June 1, 1969, to Terry E. Taylor, who survives.

Also surviving is her mother, Evelyn S. Snyder Fye of Mercer; a son, William E. Taylor and his wife, Karen, and their daughter, Trinity, all of New Market, Ontario, Canada; four sisters, Rita L. Ferringer of Hermitage, Dr. Mary Grossman and her husband, Horace, of Grove City, Aletha Davis and her husband, Daniel, of Franklin, and Kimberly Cathcart and her husband, Steve, of Mercer; her mother-in-law, Betty Jean Taylor of Emlenton; an uncle, Gene Fye of Rimersburg; a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, by whom she was affectionately known as “Grammy Sharon.” She was also survived by a number of cousins.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emily Elizabeth Taylor; her maternal and paternal grandparents, and her grandparents-in-law, Robert Sr. and Hazel Gerwick.

TAYLOR — Friends of Sharon F. Taylor, who passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013, will be received at the Hile Funeral Home, 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Park Hill First Church of God, 3314 Lime Plant Road, Parker. A funeral service will follow from the church at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Eric D. Mitchell, church pastor, and the Rev. Lonny Wolford, former church pastor, officiating. Private interment will follow in Allegheny Cemetery, Allegheny Township, Butler County.Memorial contributions may be made to the Park Hill First Church of God, Lime Plant Road, Parker, PA 16049.Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.hilefh.com.
