Felon allegedly pulls handgun on 3 men
A felon faces a hearing next month on charges he pulled a handgun on three men during a weekend confrontation at a Butler shopping plaza parking lot.
City police arrested the suspected gunman, Logan W. Lindsay, 23, of Baden, Beaver County, shortly after being called Saturday evening to the Pullman Square Plaza.
The alleged victims — Eric Defelice, Joseph Defelice and Steven Dunmire — told police they were walking outside the Kmart near the store’s lawn and garden center about 7 p.m. when the defendant approached them in a car.
Lindsay sped past them and then backed up the car to where they were, according to court documents. He told the men, “You wanna say something?” and pulled out a .22-caliber pistol, unbuckling it from a holster.
“The victims,” documents said, “stated that they were terrified and climbed a fence to get away from (Lindsay).” No one was hurt.
Officers spotted the defendant in his car at a fast-food restaurant drive-in at the plaza. Moments later, police said they found the loaded pistol in the trunk of the car.
They also found him with a stun gun in a holster.
A check of Lindsay’s criminal record, documents said, showed he has two felony drug convictions in Ohio.
The defendant was arraigned Sunday on charges of aggravated assault, and illegal possession of a firearm, both felonies.
Additionally, he is charged with terroristic threats, possessing a prohibited offensive weapon and reckless endangerment, all misdemeanors, as well as a traffic ticket for driving without a license.
He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail, following arraignment.
A preliminary hearing is set for May 13 before District Judge Pete Shaffer.
