GREENSBURG — West Penn Power says it will spend $110 million this year on transmission upgrades, repairs and improvements in southwestern Pennsylvania and other service areas.

In Butler County, that will include replacing about one mile of conductor on a distribution circuit near the Butler County Fairgrounds to increase capacity.

West Penn is a subsidiary of FirstEnergy.

CABOT — Cabot Guns has acquired the naming rights of the NRA National Pistol Championship.Cabot Guns has the naming rights for the 2013 through 2017 years for the NRA's Center Fire Championship, which now will be known as the Cabot Guns NRA National Center Fire Championship. It is scheduled for July 12 this year.“We are proud to support competitive bullseye shooting,” stated Rob Bianchin, company president.The match tests the ability of the shooter to fire accurately with a center fire pistol in calibers .32 to .45, most of which are 1911 style pistols although revolvers meet the qualifications. About 700 competitors are expected to compete for the title.Cabot Guns produces 1911 style pistols.
