Shirley Jane Greenawalt, 81, of Saxonburg and North Fort Myers, Fla., passed away on Tuesday at her home.

She was born in Sarver, and was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Dorothy (Harvey) Toy.

Shirley was a graduate of Freeport High School and Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing, and she attended the University of Pittsburgh.

Shirley was a nursing supervisor at Allegheny Valley and Butler Memorial hospitals and a founding member of the Penn Township Women's and Penn Valley Athletic Clubs.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 59 years, Roy M. Greenawalt; her son, Kevin, his wife, Holly, and their children, Bradley and Kelly; her son, Kent, and his wife, Ann, and their sons, Caleb, Jonah and Isaac; and her son, Keith, his wife, Beth, and their daughter, Emma. She also is survived by her brother, Francis Toy, and her sister, Nancy Stover both of Sarver; and her exchange student-daughter, Christina Gloger of Munich, Germany.

She is preceded in death by two siblings, Joanne and Donald Toy.

In addition to friends and family in Pennsylvania, Shirley added a close circle of new friends when they moved to Florida and were able to expand their love of golf to being a year round activity.
