1:01 a.m. Saturday — Jedediah Lee Owens-Vickers, 20, of Butler was nabbed on an arrest warrant while walking on West Penn Street.Owens-Vickers was wanted in connection with an altercation Wednesday in Butler during which he and another man allegedly stole two cell phones.Police said Owens-Vickers and James E. Howard-George, 19, of Butler accosted three people about 10:10 p.m. in a parking lot across from Cubs Hall on South McKean Street. They took the cell phones from two of the alleged victims.The suspects also chased after one of those victims, who apparently tried to get away.Owens-Vickers was arraigned on charges of theft, receiving stolen property and disorderly conduct, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail.Police on Thursday arrested Howard-George, who is in the county prison on $25,000 bail.
4:39 p.m. Friday — Angela Schlagel, 35, and Brandie Blystone, 22, both of Butler, were caught allegedly scheming to shoplift $103 worth of goods at the Trader Horn store at the Greater Butler Mart.Police said Schlagel was spotted switching price tags on merchandise and Blystone was seen putting items in Schlagel's purse. Both suspects are charged with retail theft and conspiracy.Grove City PoliceMonday — Police filed misdemeanor assault charges against Nathan S. Kingsley, 31, of Volant stemming from a March 2 altercation he had with a 36-year-old man at the Blue Ribbon Tavern on South Broad Street. The older man was injured in the incident.6 p.m. April 2 — Someone fired a BB or pellet gun at a window at Kathleen's Hair With Style on South Broad Street. The window sustained a quarter-sized chip in it.April 2 — A digital camera with a case was found near the playground at Hunter Farm Park on Greenwood Drive. The owner can claim the property at the police station at 724-458-7925.
5:44 p.m. Monday — Anthony DeAngelo, 64, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 422 about one-half mile east of the North Shore exit.5:12 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Steven E. Markowski, 51, of Butler crashed into a guardrail on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township. Police said Markowski was cited for a lane violation.Monday — A chain saw, air compressor, propane tank and socket set were stolen from a shed in a burglary at a home on Oak Leaf Lane in Oakland Township. The property, worth a combined $385, was taken between 2 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Monday.
Monday — An unknown burglar stole a woman's engagement ring, a coffee can containing assorted change and a fire safe from a house on Millburn Road in Springfield Township. The stolen property is valued at $425. The break-in happened between 11 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.The burglary was at least the second one in five days on Millburn Road. On Wednesday, jewelry was taken during a break-in at another home on the street.6:25 p.m. Sunday — The fire marshal's office is investigating a fire that destroyed an 85-foot-by-40-foot garage on Route 19 in Springfield Township. Damage to the garage, owned by Harold F. Blake of Volant, was estimated at $200,000.8:56 p.m. March 25 — An unknown thief made off with four designer purses worth a total of $1,200 from the Coach Store at the Prime Outlets in Springfield Township. The suspect, a black man in his mid-30s, about 6 feet tall and 175 pounds, was last seen running across the parking lot.
Friday — An unknown burglar made off with a steel forklift extension after forcing in a side door to a storage shed at Star Class Inc. on Martin Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.
