FORGING THE WAY - Kelly Streib

Kelley Streib

“My leadership philosophy is pretty simple — serve people. I believe leadership is the ability to influence others. So really for me, it is not about being “the boss” or holding a certain professional position; it is influencing others coming from a servant attitude. That means making decisions that are not always in 'my' best interest, never asking someone to do something I wouldn't do (even though a good leader always delegates and looks for talented people who can do the work best) and leaving my ego at the door by surrounding myself with people who are smarter than me and have different skills than I do.”

INSPIRATION: “My favorite leader to study and learn from is author John Maxwell. I especially like his books 'How Successful People Think' and 'Teamwork 101.' However, a leader I greatly respect and try to learn from is Pastor John Nuzzo of Victory Family Church. He is admittedly not a natural born leader, but he recognizes the great responsibility that leaders have, and constantly hones his craft. Primarily, I respect the way that he prioritizes decisions, always putting purpose over personality while making sure to put people ahead of policy.”>B>
