Butler Health System
When you’re really sick, a hospital can be the most welcome sight in the world. When you’re not, it can be inconvenient for quick care or other needs.
But rarely do people think about the dollars they bring into a community and the fact that a hospital can be a significant part of a community’s economy.
In Butler County, this impact reaches beyond the physical hospital campus. Butler Health System owns and operates numerous physician specialty practices in Butler, Chicora, Cranberry Township, Seven Fields, Sarver, Saxonburg and Slippery Rock that includes Primary Care, Family Medicine, Cardiovascular, Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, Dermatology, Surgical, Infection Control, Pathology along with a Wound Care Center and four walk-in urgent care centers (BHS FastERcare) throughout the county.
Add to that more than 25 walk-in lab, X-ray, and EKG facilities, its two outpatient physical therapy offices and a resource center for families and you have a Butler Health System facility in almost every section of the county.
These outpatient facilities account for 485,000 visits annually. In addition, the hospital campus has about 13,500 inpatient admissions.
Each of the outpatient locations works to support the communities where they are located and the addition of each site fuels the economy by bringing dollars back into the community, helping local retailers, educators, churches, manufacturers, etc. in a continuing ripple effect. As the dollars the hospital spends trickle through the economy, they create more and more of an impact.
