Norman H. Wackenhut
Norman H. Wackenhut, 92, of Gibsonia passed away Thursday.
He was the beloved husband of the late Miriam M. (Moore) Wackenhut and brother of J. Bruce (Frances) Wackenhut of Greenville. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews.
As a U.S. Navy World War II veteran, Norman served in the Pacific theater as a skipper on the USS LCS 91.
He was a longtime associate professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, a member of the F&AM Avalon Lodge 657, the Scottish Rite, and a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown.
WACKENHUT — The family will welcome friends of Norman H. Wackenhut, who passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.
