Troy Morris was honored with the New Teacher Award from the Pennsylvania Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

The award recognizes his enthusiasm for his students’ learning and his demonstrated initiatives in developing innovative strategies in teaching.

Morris graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 2002 and earned his associate in mathematics at Butler County Community College. He received a bachelor of science and his master’s in secondary education at Slippery Rock University.

He is a math teacher at Mercer Middle/High School. He lives in Volant.
