William F. Vrboncic

William Vrboncic

William F. Vrboncic, 88, of Cabot, formerly of Castle Shannon, passed away Thursday at the Good Samaritan Hospice.

He was born Jan. 15, 1925, in Castle Shannon and was the son of the late John and Anna Balkovec Vrboncic.

Bill proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

He worked as a greenskeeper for the South Hills Country Club and the Valley Brook Country Club. He was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cabot. He enjoyed golfing and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Alberta Sell Vrboncic, who he married June 16, 1951; his children, Richard (Linda) Vrboncic, Cynthia (Jeffrey) Allan, Robert (Toni) Vrboncic, and Patricia Katz; four grandchildren, Jason Vrboncic, Amy (Jacob) Majersky, Ian Katz and Melanie Allan; two great-grandchildren, Molly and Lucy Majersky; sister-in-law, Betty J. Vrboncic; brother-in-law, Robert Sell Sr.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, William F. Vrboncic Jr.; his parents; three sisters; and four brothers.

VRBONCIC — Friends of William F. Vrboncic, who passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.
