Eleaner M. Lydick Funkhouser

Eleaner M. Lydick Funkhouser, 79, of Penn Township, Butler, died Monday at the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia in Cabot.

Born in Springdale, Pa., on Aug. 14, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Turner and Ruth Farrell Lydick.

Eleaner was an aide for the Bauman Bus Co. in Butler. She had been a member of the Glade Run United Presbyterian Church and attended the St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Hannahstown.

An avid flower gardener and baker, Eleaner enjoyed camping with her family, riding her golf cart with her grandkids and attending their activities.

Surviving are her daughter, Ruth Ann Brewer and her husband, Lloyd, of Cabot; her grandchildren, Luke and Ashley Brewer; a brother, Thomas Lydick and his wife, Til, of Maple Shade, N.J.; and two nieces.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Lewis F. Funkhouser; a son, Bradley Funkhouser; and a sister, Patricia Lydick.

FUNKHOUSER — Friends of Eleaner M. Lydick Funkhouser, who died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.A service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Barry Keuralainen officiating.
