Norris 'Bud' Funkhouser

Norris Funkhouser

Norris N. “Bud” Funkhouser, 84, of Renfrew went home to be with the Lord on Monday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

He was born April 11, 1928, in Argentine to the late Frank Funkhouser and Lydia Seelbaugh Funkhouser.

Bud was a member of the Middlesex PCA Church, where he served as a deacon and elder.

As a brick and stone mason, he belonged to BHC Local 9 for more than 50 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Bud was a sports enthusiast, enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and football. He was a graduate of Mars High School.

Bud is survived by his wife, Dorothy Nicklas Funkhouser; one son, Jeffrey Funkhouser and his wife, Sharon, of Queen Creek, Ariz.; two daughters, Cathy Joyce and Diane Miller, both of Mesa, Ariz.; two stepdaughters, Sharon Profota and her husband, Robert, of Butler and Cathy Myers and her husband, Warren, of Alabama; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; four stepgrandsons; two sisters, Doris Leasher and her husband, Thomas, of Evans City and Judy Gregson and her husband, Gary, of Butler; and also by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and his first wife.

FUNKHOUSER — Friends of Norris N. “Bud” Funkhouser. who died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Kevin Bowen of Middlesex PCA. Burial will take place in the Glade Run Cemetery.Memorial donations are suggested to the Middlesex PCA, 116 Church Road, Butler, PA 16002 or to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
