10:30 p.m. Thursday — Francis E. Sydlik, 51, of Clay Township was arrested for driving under the influence after his pickup truck slid into a fire hydrant at Mercer and West New Castle streets.Thursday — Michael R. Codispot Jr., 49, of Butler was charged with drunken driving stemming from a Feb. 5 wreck on McClain Avenue. Police said Codispot about 2:07 a.m. crashed into a sport utility vehicle parked in front of a home, flipping the SUV onto its side.Police obtained toxicology results Thursday that showed Codispot's blood alcohol level was 0.162 percent, or twice the 0.08 level considered intoxicated under state law.In addition to driving under the influence, Codispot is charged with driving an unregistered vehicle.Thursday — Police charged David W. Cousins, 57, of Center Township with drunken driving stemming from a 9:29 p.m. Feb. 3 traffic stop at East Jefferson and Linden streets.Police obtained toxicology results Thursday that showed Cousins' blood alcohol level was 0.185 percent.In addition to DUI, police charged Cousins with driving with a burned out headlight and without inspection.9:46 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Michael P. Chute, 34, of Butler pulled from a parking spot and hit a tractor truck on South Main Street. Police said Chute was cited for driving without a license. John Vantine, 52, of Butler was driving the truck.

Tuesday — Nothing was reported taken in a burglary at a home in the 400 block of McConnell Street. The break-in happened between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.Harrisville PoliceWednesday — Police arrested Jennifer R. Shoaf, 31, of Concord Township on a felony warrant in Slippery Rock. Police on Feb. 5 obtained the arrest warrant for Shoaf on charges of forgery, theft, identity theft and receiving stolen property. She was arraigned on charges following her arrest and placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.

6:12 a.m. Thursday — A pickup truck driven by Brian T. Brown, 45, of Butler crashed into a light post along Grundman Lane just west of Kriess Road in Connoquenessing Township. Police said they cited Brown for driving on the wrong side of the road.Thursday — Police charged Kevin S. Peiffer, 37, of Sarver four weeks after he allegedly took a Jefferson Township woman's car without her permission and later crashed it into a tree in Fawn Township, Allegheny CountyPeiffer is charged in Butler County with unauthorized use of a vehicle.Fawn Township police previously charged him in the wreck with driving under the influence, driving on the wrong side of the road and careless driving.7:30 p.m. Wednesday — Contessia S. Bonacci, 20, of Burgettstown, Washington County, reported that another vehicle struck the driver's side mirror of her vehicle as she was driving on Route 173 just south of Boller Drive in Slippery Rock. Police said Bonacci could not identify the other vehicle, which did not stop after the accident.Wednesday — A damaged Electrolux refrigerator and a scrapped Kenmore washer and dryer set were stolen from the loading area at R.W. McDonald and Sons on Route 8 in Center Township. The items, worth about $50, were taken between 9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Wednesday.Feb. 7 — A lawn mower cart and two sets of plow discs were stolen from a home on the 300 block of Goldscheitter Road in Clinton Township. The items, valued at a combined $150, were taken between Feb. 5 and 7.Jan. 16 — An unknown vandal spray painted the sign at Miller Sports & Family Chiropractic on Grandview Avenue in Chicora. Anyone with information about the vandalism that happened Jan. 15 or 16 is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.7:41 a.m. Feb. 2 — Matthew Graham, 20, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his car struck a utility pole and tree along Route 38 near Martin Road in Cherry Valley. Graham and his two passengers fled the scene after the crash. Police later found Graham at his home.Matthew Maire, 22, of Butler, one of the passengers in the car, suffered a minor injury. Police said Maire was not wearing a seat belt.

11 a.m. Tuesday — A Sligo teenager was caught with a pocket knife at Union High School in Madison Township. The 19-year-old suspect, who police did not identify, is charged with possession of a weapon on school property.

4:23 p.m. Tuesday — Randy G. McKnight, 54, of Grove City was hurt when he lost control of his sport utility vehicle and it rolled over several times on Interstate 79 in Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County. McKnight, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries.The crash happened after McKnight fell asleep, according to a police report. He faces a ticket for a lane violation.
