Record Setters
Butler High School swimmers shattered a nine-year-old 200-yard medley relay record in February of 1971 during their 31st straight dual victory by covering the opening event in 1:46:1. The old standard of 1:46:2 was set by Mt. Lebanon and matched by Erie Strong Vincent. Performing the feat for the Tornado were, from left, Fred McDonald, Bob Eichelberger, John Turner and Joe O’Brien.
