William “Bill” Roenigk, a native of Cabot, is this year's recipient of the National Poultry & Food Distributors Association's Poultry Industry Lifetime Achievement Award.

It was presented Jan. 30 at the association's awards reception in Atlanta.

Roenigk is senior vice president of the National Chicken Council, the U.S. organization representing companies that produce, process and market more than 95 percent of the young meat chickens in the United States.

He joined the council, then the National Broiler Council, in 1974. His responsibilities have included economic and market analyses of broiler industry issues, domestic and international, to government bodies and non-government organizations.

His degrees include a bachelor's from The Pennsylvania State University and master's from the University of Delaware. Both degrees are in agricultural economics.

EMLENTON — Emclaire Financial, the parent company of The Farmers National Bank of Emlenton, reported consolidated net income of $3.7 million for the 12 months ended on December, compared to $3.8 million for the same period in 2011.The corporation realized a return on average assets of 0.70 percent and a return on average common equity of 7.56 percent for the year ended Dec. 31, compared to 0.78 percent and 8.98 percent, respectively, for 2011.Net income was $691,000 for the quarter ended Dec. 31 compared to $1.2 million for the same period in 2011.
