The Audubon Society hosts naturalist led walks at 9 a.m. Thursdays. The Great Backyard Bird Count training is set for Saturday. Call 412-963-6100 or visit www.aswp.org to register.

Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528, Brady Township, will host Crystalline Wonders: The Incredible World of Snow at 2 p.m. Sunday. This 90-minute indoor program will examine the formation and identification of snowflakes, and the impact these crystalline formations have on humans and other living things. If it is snowing, participants will step outside to catch a flake and examine it. “Planning and Planting a Garden of Your Own” registration deadline is Saturday for the program set from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 17. The workshop is recommended for participants age 16 and older; cost is $10. The registration deadline for the Great Backyard Bird Count is Wednesday.
