Cold Mornings for Pedestrians

It was really too cold to venture outdoors, but that is exactly what these two Butler residents did on Jan. 21, 1985, despite a warning from the thermometer outside the Pittsburgh National Bank on North Main Street. The temperature, which dipped to 21 degrees below zero last night, was frigid enough to close all schools in the county and to inspire warnings to stay indoors.
