PITTSBURGH — Officials in Western Pennsylvania say a teenager died of injuries after a sledding accident.

Jenna Prusia, 16, of Apollo was pronounced dead at 6:36 p.m. Friday at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Authorities said the Kiski Area High School junior was flown to the hospital after she was injured while sledding on private property in Bell, Westmoreland County.

The Allegheny County medical examiner's office ruled she died of head injuries.

ALTOONA — A prosecutor has yet to decide whether a teen will face charges in the allegedly accidental shooting death of a 16-year-old friend.Altoona police and Blair County District Attorney Richard Consiglio have yet to release the name of the shooter or many details about Wednesday's shooting of 16-year-old Jesse McElhinney, who lived with his grandparents.The district attorney did not immediately return a call Monday seeking updated information.Grandfather Dean Sprankle says McElhinney was shot in the temple after his friend brought over a .38-caliber handgun. The boy's funeral was Saturday.

UNIONTOWN — A Western Pennsylvania judge has declined to dismiss a homicide charge against a man in the beating death of an elderly man that authorities allege stemmed from a love triangle involving the younger man's girlfriend.A Pittsburgh newspaper says Fayette County Judge Gerald Solomon also refused to exclude from trial statements that 36-year-old Jonathan Godines of Brownsville made in phone calls from jail.Godines was originally charged with aggravated assault in the November 2011 beating of 75-year-old John Eicholtz but was charged with homicide after the victim died.Godines has denied that the fight was due to jealousy and cited a traffic dispute.In a call prosecutors played during a Sept. 25 hearing, Godines is head telling an unidentified woman that she is at fault for his predicament.
