John A. Foringer

John A. Foringer, 83, of Polk and a resident of the Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, died Wednesday at the Meadville Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 8, 1929, in Fairview, Butler County, a son of Elmer V. and Bertha Elizabeth Duespohl Foringer.

He had been married to Kathryn Dietz. Then he subsequently married Mary Jo Blair on Nov. 17, 1980, and she preceded him in death on June 17, 2001.

John was a 1947 graduate of Karns City High School. He was employed at the Witco Chemical Co., Petrolia, for 45 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Petrolia Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed going to auctions and doing carpentry work.

He was a Methodist.

Survivors include three sons, John A. Foringer and his wife, Barbara, of Clarks Mills, Terry Foringer and his wife, Emma, of Bruin and Jeff Foringer and his wife, Sonia, of Karns City; a daughter, Lisa Jorinscay and her husband, Bill, of Kennerdell; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaretta (Maggie) Reese, Marion (Bonnie) Silvis and Mary (Birdie) Gray.

FORINGER — John A. Foringer died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012. A private family viewing will be followed by a public funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville, with the Rev. Dave Brumagin officiating.Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake Township, Mercer County.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Polk Volunteer Fire Department, 710 Main St., Polk, PA 16342.Share your memories and condolences at waidfuneralhome.net.
