Norman 'Butch' Henry Fennell

Norman “Butch” Henry Fennell, 95, of Toccoa, Ga., formerly of Chicora, passed away suddenly on Friday at Heritage Healthcare of Toccoa.

The son of the late Ellis and Alice Shook Fennell, he was born Jan. 15, 1917, in Fenelton.

He lived most of his life in Chicora and the last six years in Toccoa. He retired in 1978 from Penn Drake. He attended the St. James United Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie McNany Fennell, who he married July 3, 1944, and who died May 9,1995.

He is survived by his son, Carl Fennell of Toccoa, Ga., and his nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Elsie Wheeling and Mae Double; and his brothers, Harold, Milford, Raymond, Wallace, Willard, Ervin and Russell Fennell.

FENNELL — Friends of Norman “Butch” Henry Fennell, who died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock and Main Streets, Chicora. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 310 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora, with the Rev. Mark Wallace, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Reformed Church Cemetery, 334 W. Slippery Rock St., Chicora.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christian and Missionary Alliance Youth Group, Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 310 E.
