Helen A. Prop
Helen A. Prop, 90, formerly of Penn-Mar Plaza in Mars and Chalfonte, Bucks County, died Wednesday afternoon at UPMC Cranberry Place.
Born in Pittsburgh on Feb. 23, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Nora Roman George.
Helen was had been a hostess and waitress at the Plaza Restaurant in Forest Hills for many years.
Helen will always be remembered for her independence and her love for family and friends. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
The family would like to thank the staff at Cranberry Place for their loving care.
Helen was the mother of Charles “Chuck” Prop and his wife, Somboon “Sam,” of Anchorage, Alaska, Linda Matta and her husband, Dave, of Middlesex Township and the late William Prop; and the grandmother of Jel, Oowan, Jack, Anne, James, Aaron and Ben. She also is survived by 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was the sister of Yvonne Eberhard, Alberta “Birdie” Pavelka, and the late Charles and Anthony George, and Lorraine Stacklin.
PROP — Friends of Helen A. Prop, who died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Services will follow at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.Entombment will be in the Mausoleum at Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon Township, on Monday at noon.
